I'm excited about this class. It is starting well and we have the rest of the semester for learning and contact.

How does supply chain affect your life?

Where do you see the supply chain? Just the other day I saw a logistics delivery van. Often in UK I would see Fedex vans. These are all visible parts of the supply chain. Who comes into contact with customers? Often the delivery man - the man who drives the delivery truck for Fedex etc. Have you experience of receiving a package from these types of firm?

Few months back, I have received a parcel. It was from T-cat, people normally known as black cats. I was pretty satisfied with their quality of services. Very Happy

That man came with the parcel, he was friendly, can feel his passion for his job, plus he was a wearing a neat uniform, which really looked professional. Interesting enough that the man actually phoned me, to make sure where I am at that time, and also informed me that there is a parcel needed to be send it to me. Laughing

This must be the Japanese delivery company (Takkyubin?). It sounds like they may make real-time changes to the schedule to allow for customers who are home or out. Often the design the pickup-dropoff route carefully to minimize journey time and maximize speed.

Well let me shock¡IRecently I bought a lovely book in Internet bookstore
¡I Initially, this book is out of stock in book shelves(online). I started to think that the book could be arrived immediately if I telephoned to the company. Finally I believed them. To my surprise, this book had arrived for one week¡IWow this supply chain is pretty good Very Happy

I ordered clothes almost 2 weeks ago, but untill now, the company show me the situation about my clothes is " Preparing". It let my upset. Evil or Very Mad

What are we talking about here? INFORMATION -- just like in our last class Idea

What it looks like here is that the manager doesn't know... so how INTEGRATED is this supply chain?

Diagnosis... the supply chain doesn't look integrated becuase the manager can't give the customer a good, clear, honest response about when the clothes will come.
